The ‘Kreta’ Cuff Title was instituted on October 16, 1942, and conferred upon German troops who had participated in the successful mission to invade and occupy the island of Crete.
In order to receive the Title, a recipient had to have (a) landed via glider or parachute on Crete from May 20th-May 27, 1941, (b) participated in the air operations over the island, or (c) been on active service in the sea surrounding Crete until May 27, 1941.
There was no difference in quality between the titles worn by Officers and those worn by troops.
The title was worn on the left forearm.
