1908 issue. An example of a Bronze Commemorative Jubilee Medal for Foreigners (Bronzene internationale Jubiläum-Erinnerungsmedaille); a round bronze medal; the obverse depicting the rightward facing head of Kaiser Franz Josef, circumscribed by his name; the reverse inscribed “In memoriam Sexagesimi Anni Imperill Feliciter Peracti” (Latin - In memory of the sixty years of of faithful service) within an open ended laurel and oak wrath; measuring 38.15 mm in diameter; weighing 25.4 grams; in overall near mint condition.
The medal was instituted by Emperor Franz Joseph I in commemoration of his 60th anniversary of reign.
This medal was conferred upon members of foreign Austro-Hungarian regiments of which the Emperor was the honourary commander.
The Bronze Medal was awarded to the low ranking members of the foreign regiments, such as Ensigns.
