Physical Description and Item Details


(Erinnerungsmedaille des Deutschen Ritter Orden). A round silver medal; the obverse depicting the rightward facing bust of Archduke Eugen, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse depicting the coat of arms of Austria-Hungary-Teschen; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 41.20 mm in diameter; weighing 21.0 grams; in overall very fine condition.

History


This medal was founded to commemorate the appointment of Archduke Eugene as the Grand-master of the German Knight Order.

The medal was conferred upon all the Order's Knights and members who were present at the occasion.
