An early quality set consisting of a silver sash badge with four arms in white enamels with ball finials, each arm composed of clusters of individual rays, with green laurels in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting the Yugoslav royal crown with enameled detailing on a white enamel field, detailed silver border, reverse presenting the date "3-X-1929 and the royal monogram "A" (3 October 1929 and Alexander), suspension formed by two green enameled laurel branches.
The Order of the Yugoslav Crown was founded by King Alexander I in 1930 to commemorate the unification of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia on October 3, 1929, when the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was reduced to this new realm.
The Order was conferred upon Yugoslavians and foreigners in recognition of meritorious civil and military service rendered to the King and Yugoslavia, for the country and the national unification.
The Order was regulated under the influence of the Légion d'honneur; it was authorized with five classes on a single-colored ribbon.
The Order was abolished along with the capitulation of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1941.
There was a first model used for a short period of time which did not feature the surmounted oak wreath. In November 1930 the oak wreath was added. There are several second-models on the market which the oak wreath were removed to resemble the first model; caution is required due to the rarity of the first model.
