Physical Description and Item Details


and Breast Star: three-piece construction, silver gilt with red, white and green enamelled insignia, on a silver five-pointed star base, hallmarked on the pin, 74.5 mm x 79.5 mm, vertical pinback. Scattered gilt wear and chipping evident in the red enamels on the reverse centrepiece of the Badge, enamels intact on the Breast Star. Near extremely fine.

History


This Order was established by Sultan Youssef in 1913. It was conferred upon civilians and military personnel in recognition of exceptional meritorious service.

The Grand Officer class was limited to 80 recipients.

The obverse features an inscription in Arabic script, which translates to "His Majesty Youssef".
