5th. Class, Russian type 1831, with original ribbon, 28.7x32.35mm, worn condition, minor contact marks and wear, in very fine condition.
Originally, this was a Polish Order created by the King of Poland in 1792 (see POL102). It was adopted into the Russian awards system by Nicholas I in 1831, and was discontinued in 1835.
It should be noted that the date on the reverse was changed from 1792 to 1831, to signify the absorption of the Polish Kingdom into the Russian Empire.
