History

This medal Peacekeeping Medal (Midalat al-Masharikh fi Qawat al-Salam al-Daulat) was instituted by King Hussein. It is believed that the Medal was instituted in 2007, but more research is needed to confirm. The Medal is issued to personnel in recognition of service in the Jordanian contingent in international peacekeeping operations.
