The Maison Bacqueville began manufacturing medals and decorations since 1790. The company was the supplier to Emperor Napoleon III. They were located in the gardens of the Palais Royal and are still present there.

Currently Maison Bacqueville is one of the three manufacturers that has the 'right to strike' for French and foreign awards including the Legion of Honor, Military Medal, War Cross, Order of Academic Awards, Order of Arts and Letters to name a few.
