The Badge was awarded to recognize good shots, which required an individual to fire five shots from a lying position with a rifle supported by a sand bag, five shots in a lying position holding an unsupported rifle, and five shots fired while kneeling.
It was also awarded to recognize marksmanship, which required an individual to fire ten shots from the firing positions outlined above, as well as fire two bursts of rapid fire.
Finally, the Badge also recognized champion shots, as well as general shooting proficiency.
