Badge struck in solid silver (marked “935” on reverse), excellent details and high polish, with textbook pin assembly on reverse, 20.0mm x 40.37mm, weighs 4.8 grams, with nice old patina, in extremely fine condition; a very fine example and very scarce.
The Badge was instituted in 1935. The Badge in Gold was to be awarded for special cases. The Badge in Silver was awarded to all members of the Gau who owned the Golden Party Badge, as well as meritorious members without the Golden Party Badge.
The Nazi Regime divided Germany into a series of districts of “Gaue” to facilitate nationwide Party administration.
Every Gau was administered by a Gauleiter or “District Leader.
