History

In June of 1932, the standard black SS uniform was introduced to replace the traditional brown shirt uniform.

The cut of the uniform was the same for all ranks, but Officer uniforms were manufactured out of higher quality materials. Leaders often had their uniforms tailor-made, and as a result a wide range of variations can be encountered.

The uniform included straight legged black trousers, with a white piping down the outer leg seam. These trousers were to be worn with walking out dress and evening attire.

Officer grade trousers are manufactured out of high-quality black twill, while those for Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Men (NCO/EM) trousers are produced out of black cloth. The pants have two slash front pockets, a small watch pocket on the right side of the fly, and a single rear pocket. The pockets close with black plastic buttons.

The rear of the pants features a v-shaped centre slash in the waistband and adjustment straps on each hip. The interior is lined with a white cotton-rayon material and features size stampings and manufacturer marks.

The trousers' legs have straight, non-adjustable cuffs that are reinforced with a strip of black rayon.
