As early as 1934, “Litzen” (bars) were worn on the lower left sleeve of sports uniforms to indicate rank.

Stabsführer of the Reichjugendführung (RJF) wore two gold-coloured “V”s over three horizontal gold-coloured bars. This was introduced in February 1936.
