Hello,
I have a I class Order of British India, however the inscription on the obverse has a spelling mistake, where British is missing the H. Perhaps this is an Indian spelling or version of the award?
Interested to hear what others think. I am confident that it is Gold, but I have not yet tested it. Has anyone else seen an example like this?
Unique! I have never seen another example of this spelling (however, I haven't seen many examples in general). A lot of detail in the lion. Are there marks on the reverse?
I read that the initially produced batch - 1000 pcs - of this British (Indian) decoration had this spelling mistake. Later they rectified the mistake but this medal is far more expensive than the "correct" one. You're lucky.
