A Waffen-SS Divisional Gendarmerie patch; constructed of grey BeVo style machine embroidery; on a black rayon backer; standard buckram backer; measuring 64 mm x 47 mm; glue residue from collector’s mounting on the reverse; otherwise better than very fine condition.
Service Identification Badges were similar in design and wear to Trade Insignia. They denoted the wearer's former or current affiliation with another organisation.
The badges were in the shape of a black cloth diamond with silver-grey thread for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and Enlisted Men (EMs), and with aluminum wire for Officers. They were worn on the lower left sleeve.
The Police badge was worn by former members of that organisation being assigned to the SS. It features a police-style eagle emblem with oakleaves wreath and swastika.
