Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised leftward-facing profile of Prince Regent Luitpold, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “DER PROTEKTOR DEM LANDWIRTSCHAFTL. VEREIN IN BAYERN, ZUR HUNDERT-JAHRFEIER 1810-1910” (the patron of the agricultural association in Bavaria, to its hundredth anniversary), unmarked, measuring 36.05 mm in diameter, weighing 24.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
The Agricultural Jubilee Medal was established by Prince Regent Luitpold on September 16, 1910 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Bavarian Agricultural Association. The medal is in three classes: gold, silver, and bronze. It was awarded on the anniversary day.
The Gold Medal was awarded to high-ranking government officials and dignitaries.
