History

This medal is conferred by the Croatian Ministry of Culture upon Croatian artists in recognition of outstanding achievements in film, literature, music, theatre, visual arts, applied arts, architecture, and urbanism.

It is awarded in the form of an annual award and a life achievement award.

This award is named after Vladimir Nazor who was a Croatian poet during the mid 20th century.
