History

This medal was conferred upon Croatians and foreigners in recognition of service in the Croatian War of Independence from 1991 to 1995, as part of a volunteer unit, the Croatian Army, the Croatian Council of Defence, or in some other role.

The reverse inscription translates to "Homeland War". The "RH" stands for "Croatian Republic".
