History

The Order of Merit of Telecommunication (Orden del Mérito de Telecomunicacíon) was established by decree of June 23, 1997. It is awarded to either foreign or national individuals, and organizations, in recognition of distinguished and meritorious service relating to the field of telecommunication and information services.

The grades are Grand Cross, Officer Cross, Gold Cross, and Silver Cross.

This Order is the highest Spanish distinction for telecommunication merit.
