Physical Description and Item Details


Three-piece construction, bronze gilt and enamels, 58x61mm, loop suspension, enamel repair evident on one gear spoke, contact marks and gilt wear evident on the insignia, very fine.

History


The Order of the Victory of Socialism was conferred upon Romanian citizens in recognition of exceptional contributions to socialism in Romania. It was also conferred upon all recipients of the Title of the Hero of the Romanian Socialist Republic, but it was permanently suppressed following the collapse of the Socialist Republic in 1989.

Members of the Order were granted a monetary award of 3500 lei (875 USD) and were entitled to five additional days of paid leave.
