History


The Medal of the Order of the Merits to Lithuania was established along with the Order of Merits to Lithuania in 2002. It is awarded to Lithuanian citizens in recognition of distinguished merit in a variety of fields including culture, science, military science, business, economics, public service, sports, and education. It may also be awarded in recognition of humanitarian aid and international diplomacy.

The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "For Lithuania."
