History

The Royal Navy Campaign Cross was created on December 22, 1943. It was awarded to personnel of the Royal Hellenic Navy for at least six months of service in the Second World War. A star was added to the ribbon for each additional six months of service. This star could be metallic or embroidered, and it was in gold for Officers, silver for Petty Officers and bronze for sailors. A laurel branch was added to represent wounds incurred during service.

A submarine clasp was also awarded to those who served in submarines for more than a year and who had participated in more than three patrols. A gilt badge was awarded to Officers, a silvered badge was awarded to Petty Officers, and a bronze badge was awarded to Sailors.

The Bronze Cross features a reverse inscription that translates to "Atlantic Mediterranean Indian 1940-1944."

There may be additional versions of the Bronze Cross that differ in size.
