History

This Title was instituted by the State Council of the People's Republic of Bulgaria.

It was conferred upon pilots, civilians, and military personnel in recognition of outstanding contributions to Bulgarian aviation, and long, faithful service within aviation.

The recipients had to have rendered a minimum of 25 years of service to be eligible for the Title.

The design of the Title was created by Raycho Peev.

The Title was discontinued in November 1987.

The obverse inscription translates to "Honoured Pilot."
