This Order was founded by the State Council and it was conferred upon employees of the Ministry of Defence, Reservists, and military personnel in recognition of long, meritorious service, or meritorious combat training.
It was also awarded for contributions to strengthening the People's Republic Army and national security.
The Order was discontinued on April 5, 1991.
The medal was designed by Marko Markov and Bozhidar Kozarev.
The obverse inscription translates to "PRB for Military Valour and Merit."
