This medal was conferred in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Germans.

It was awarded to foreign and Belarusian WWII veterans, individuals involved in guerrilla movements during the war, and military personnel and civil servants who promoted the memory of the victory and events surrounding the anniversary.

The obverse Cyrillic inscription translates to "60 Years of the Liberation Belarus from German Occupation".
