History

The Order of Lankandula was instituted on September 19, 2003.

This medal is conferred upon chargé d'affaires, consul generals in the consular section of an embassy, consular officers with a rank higher than second secretary, director, or other persons of similar rank in recognition of meritorious political and civic service. Also conferred upon individuals in recognition of extraordinary dedication to political and civic service.
