History

This medal is also known as "Pingat Jasa Kerbaktian" and is awarded for meritorious service to the state, including devotion to duty, long service, exceptional ability, outstanding conduct, and resourcefulness.

The design is the same as the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal. It is in silver with the Royal Crest of Selangor on the obverse, along with the name of the medal in Jawi script. The reverse bears the name of the recipient and the date of the award. Bars are not awarded.
