The Order was created in honour of Nawab Al-Haj Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V's dynasty and is conferred in 5 Classes to reward personal and public services performed in all fields of endeavour.

The I Class Grand Commander is worn from a Sash and is worn with a Breast Star. The suspension used on the I Class Grand Commander is of a Pelican, which were depicted as supports in the State coat of arms.
