History


The United States Coast Guard Expert Rifleman Medal was established as an incentive to recognize outstanding rifle marksmanship among members of the Coast Guard. The Bronze Medal may be awarded to Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve personnel who have qualified as an expert in rifle firing in a designated qualification course.

A silver "E" emblem is awarded with the Medal for wear on the ribbon when the ribbon is worn alone.
