History

The Marine Combat Air Crew Badge was initially established as the Air Crew Badge on May 18, 1943, and was issued to enlisted men and Officers. The Badge was later redesignated as the Combat Aircrew Badge in 1958 and was finally re-established as the Marine Combat Aircrew Badge in 1994 by the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Combat Air Crew Badge is awarded to enlisted personnel of the Marine Corps and Navy who served as aircrew members on board combat flights.

Gold service stars are surmounted to the decoration to denote participation in combat missions. A silver star is awarded in recognition of 3 gold stars.

There are multiple versions of the Wings which vary by composition.
