The Puebla Medal for the French Intervention (Medalla por Puebla) was authorized by the state of Puebla, Mexico on May 7, 1869. It was founded in recognition of the Mexican Officers and men who fought against the French intervention from 1862 to 1867.
The composition of the Medal denotes the rank of the recipients. I Class Medal was conferred upon Generals and Chiefs, while II Class Medal was awarded to Officers, and III Class Medal to enlisted men.
The versions feature different inscriptions and surmounted suspension.
