In pickled copper, measuring 39.8 mm (w) x 41.5 mm (h), both lugs intact, extremely fine.

History


This badge was worn by members of the 247th Infantry Battalion.

The Battalion was raised in Central Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Peterborough under the authority of G.O. 48, May 1, 1916. The Battalion was under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel C.H. Ackerman. The Battalion was absorbed into the 236th Infantry Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
