    History

The July Revolution Medal (Medalla por la Revolución de Julio) was authorized by the government of Argentina, in recognition of the loyalty of the troops that defend the legitimate government of Buenos Aires against to revolutionary troops at the Revolución del Parque (July Revolution) in July 16, 1890.

It is not clear if the composition of the Medal denotes the rank of the recipient.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "July 26, 1890," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to “The Argentine Population to the Defenders of the National Freedom.”

The American warship USS Tallapoosa was awarded for discourage rebel warships from bombarding government position.
