A large silver sash badge consisting of a ten armed star with alternating red and green enamels, with clusters of three silver rays in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting the Royal cypher of Muhammad VI al-Habib in silver on a green enameled background, reverse with large makers cartouche of Kretly, measuring 60 mm (w) x 90 mm (h - inclusive of bow suspension and horizontally pierced ball), with minor enamel loss, on period silk sash, very fine.
This Order was conferred upon Lieutenant-General or above. It may have been awarded for gallantry.
This Order was initially awarded in a single class instituted by Mustafa Pasha Bey in 1835. In 1843, it was reorganized by Ahmad Pasha Bey, and expanded in 1847. Finally, it was reorganized by Muhammad as-Sadiq Pasha Bey in 1861.
