    The Order of Gratitude is conferred upon Central Africans in recognition of meritorious service to the nation. The President is the Grand Master of the Order.

    Every member of the Order is received as a Knight. Knights are required to be at least 25 years old and have rendered at least 5 years of meritorious service. Promotion to Officer may be made after 6 years as a Knight, but this requirement may be waived under exc ...  eptional circumstances.

    The obverse inscription translates to "Unity, Dignity, Labour," and the reverse inscription translates to "Central African Republic, Gratitude."
