History

This Order is conferred upon commanders, operational management heads, and other Armed Forces heads in recognition of the skillful organization of operations, on land or the air.

While this Order went unchanged from 1942 to the fall of the USSR, the medal was changed slightly in 2010 and the Order was converted into a single-class Order.

This Order is a successor to the USSR's Order of Suvorov (see USR106).

The obverse Russian inscription translates to: "Alexander Suvorov".
