History

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Excellence was instituted by the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Bin Rashid, in 2017. The Medal was created to enhance the spirit of scientific production and development in the United Arab Emirates, and to establish an Emirati scientific community. The Medal is awarded as the United Arab Emirate's highest scientific honour to civilians and foreigners in recognition of distinguished achievements, contributions, scholarly work, and research in any scientific field. Qualifying service includes contributions to health science, water reform and other environmental sciences, and engineering and development.
