History

The Emirates Military Order was instituted in 1987 and is presented in 5 Classes to members of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces in recognition of distinguished service to the nation. Personnel who were lost or captured while serving in the military as well as foreigners may also be eligible for the award.

The IV Class Decoration is awarded to military personnel of the rank of majors and below as well as to equivalent ranking civilians.

The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "The Emirates Military Order."

Recipients of the IV Class are also entitled to a monetary award.
