History

The Kosovo Humanitarian Force Medal 1999 was instituted in 1999. The Medal was awarded to all troops who participated in the Kosovo Peace Keeping Force under the North Atlantic Treaty Organization between 1999 and 2001. Civilians and foreigners may also be eligible for the award in recognition of beneficial contributions to the United Arab Emirates deployment.

The reverse features an Arabic inscription which translate ...  s to "The United Aram Emirates Humanitarian Force" and "Humanitarian."
