History
The Abu Dhabi Royal Order of Al Nahyan was instituted in 1969 by the emirate of Abu Dhabi, prior to the formation of the United Arab Emirates. The Order is named after the ruling family of Abu Dhabi and is awarded to heads of state. Recipients include HM Queen Elizabeth II and Sultan Qaboos of Oman. It is uncertain if the Order is still awarded. It is believed that the Order is conferred in a singular class, however, some sources posit that there are multiple Classes associated with the Order. More research is necessary.
The obverse of the Collar features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Al Nahyan."
