History

The Naval Forces Medal was established by King Faisal ibn Abdulaziz by Decisions of the Council of Ministers on March 20, 1971. The Medal is awarded in 3 Grades to Saudi Arabian naval personnel in recognition of outstanding bravery or other meritorious actions. The Medal is awarded to base commanders after 5 years of service in command.

The III Class is issued in bronze to enlisted personnel.
