History

The Tenth Anniversary Medal (Midal al-'Aid al-Watani al-'A'ashir al-Majid) was instituted by Sultan Qaboos on July 27, 1980 in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Sultan's accession to the Oman throne in 1970. The Medal is presented to members of the Oman Armed Forces who have provided 6 months or more of service.

The obverse and reverse feature inscriptions in Arabic. The reverse translates to "Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Mua'tham" and is dated in Arabic numerals.
