The Campaign Medal was instituted by Sultan Said bin Taimur in 1959. The Medal is awarded to Officers and other enlisted personnel of the Oman Armed Forces in recognition of their participation in the Jabal Akhdar War against the followers of Imam Ghalib bin Ali between November 1, 1958 and February 1, 1959.
The obverse features an inscription in Arabic, translated as Sultan Said bin Taimur". The reverse features an inscription in Arabic, translated as "Jabal Akhdar", and is dated in Arabic numerals.
There may be additional versions of the Medal which vary by composition.
