History
The Order of Pahlavi was founded by Reza Shah in 1926 as the highest ranked Order during the Pahlavi era. The Order was presented in 2 Classes in recognition of civil merit. The Order was abolished in 1979 with the Islamic Revolution.
The I Class Grand Collar, composed of a Collar, Breast Star, and Sash Badge, was conferred upon Shahs, crown princes, reigning monarchs, and foreign heads of state.
The obverse features a depiction of Mount Damavand as well as Persian inscriptions which translates to "Pahlavi" and the Persian date "1304" (1925).
