History

The Medal of Military Bravery and Exemplary Service in Battle is believed to have been established around 1946. The Medal was issued in 3 Grades to award military prowess and demonstrations of courage in the battle which are distinguishable, but less than that which is required to merit the recognition of the award of the Zoalfagher or Sepah Order.

The Gilt (Motala) Medal was awarded to Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officers as the second highest grade.
