The Cultural Achievement (Farhang) Award was established during the Pahlavi era to recognize excellent educational service. The Award was issued as a Decoration in 3 Classes and as a Medal in 2 Classes. Educators, principles, vice principles, and other staff of educational institutions were eligible for the award of the Decoration while teachers, lower administrative staff, and honour students were eligible for the award of the Medal.
The III Class Decoration was awarded to principles, vice principles, and educators of preschools and primary schools in recognition of 10 continuous years of exemplary service, to principles, vice principles, and teachers of high schools for 7 continuous years of distinguished service, and to professors of tertiary institutions for 5 continuous years of distinguished service.
There are no ribbon attachments authorized for wear with the III Class Decoration.
A Persian script which translates to "Culture" is inscribed on the obverse.
Recipients of the III Class Decoration were entitled to receive the award of a stipend.
