History
The Cultural Achievement (Farhang) Award was established during the Pahlavi era to recognize excellent educational service. The Award was issued as a Decoration in 3 Classes and as a Medal in 2 Classes. Educators, principles, vice principles, and other staff of educational institutions were eligible for the award of the Decoration while teachers, lower administrative staff, and honour students were eligible for the award of the Medal.
The II Class Decoration was awarded to preschool instructors, principles, vice principles, and other administrative staff of primary schools for exemplary service. Students who achieved the highest grade point average in regional exams were also eligible for the II Class Decoration.
The II Class Decoration features a silver ribbon disk attachment which depicts the Iranian Lion and Sun motif.
A Persian script which translates to "Culture" is inscribed on the obverse.
Recipients of the II Class Decoration were entitled to attend official cultural events and celebrations and the award of a stipend.
