History
The Commemorative Medal of the 25th Century of the Iranian Monarchy was established during the 1971 celebrations at Persepolis which marks the 2500th anniversary of the founding of the Persian Empire. The Medal is similar in function to the 2500th Anniversary of the Persian Empire Medal (see IRN) but was awarded to Iranian civilians and diplomats. Foreign dignitaries who attended, as well as military personnel who served in an official capacity during, the ceremonies, may also have been eligible for the award.
The reverse depicts an image of the founder of the Persian Empire, Cyrus the Great's, Charter of Human Rights and features both Persian and French script which translates to "In Celebration of the 25th Century of the Foundation of the Iranian Empire in the Hands of Cyrus the Great/ The Cylinder of Cyrus the Great-The First Charter of Human Rights" as well as the date "1350HS" (1971).
A small bronze Pahlavi crown attachment is authorized for wear on the ribbon of the Medal.
