The Order of Glory is believed to rank in precedence after the Order of Friendship and before the Order of Gallantry. However, due to a lack of comprehensive information on the background, structure, and precedence of Afghanistan awards, the Order is listed chronologically. More research is necessary.

History

The Order of Glory was instituted on May 17, 1982, to reward political leaders and industrial managers for meritorious service provided towards the development of industry, agriculture, transport and other branches of the national Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. Outstanding service in the state and public fields, meritorious business service which yields revolutionary gains, and service which strengthens the economy and cultural communications of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan with other states may also be eligible for the award. The Order may also be conferred upon foreigners.

The reverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Glory" or "Pride."
This Order was discontinued in 1992.
