Bernhard Heinrich Mayer was born in 1843. In 1871, he founded B. H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt (Decorative Embossing Institute). The firm manufactured medals, decorations, coins, badges, and jewelry. Mayer died in 1911. In 1998, the company no longer remained under family ownership.
