History
The DAF (Deutsche Arbeitsfront) was the National Socialist trade union organisation that replaced all other trade unions following the Nazi Seizure of power in 1933. The Pin was awarded to members of the DAF to denote involvement in the organisation. Under the DAF workers received a set wage, job security and benefits. Many German workers were satisfied with the conditions the DAF secured for them.Membership was technically voluntary, but an individual would struggle to find work if they did not join the official union. Members were required to pay fees, and by 1934, 300,000,000 Reichsmark had been collected.
The Gold Pin composed of Gold features the award number on the reverse.
The reverse of the pin may feature the manufacturing code “RZM."
